It's always the Islamists prepared to fill in the void, Lee. They were the only organized groups allowed under dictatorships in the Middle East, and incidentally they are the ones who own most of the guns besides the state.

There is good reason to believe it's rather more complicated than that.
It'a a sad commentary on the state of affairs in the Middle East if they only have two choices of government...secular dictatorship or Islamic dictatorship.
The supposdly wise men who were telling us that the Islamists were going to win in Libya appear to have been a bit premature with their conclusions ‘bout that.
